my tribute to Ramadhan

As we approach the final league of Ramadhan, i can't help but feel sad to think i could have done a lot more to seize this once in a year opportunity. and as i reflect, i realise that with the years, Ramadhan holds an increasingly significant meaning to me while Syawal begins to pale in comparison. I remember how enthusiastic I was ( n i bet many of u, too) when i was younger, to know that raya was approaching near. Raya was a great time of happiness meeting up with cousins and friends and not to forget 'collection'. but now... i feel that its d beauty of Ramadhan dat accounts for d happiness in Syawal. n in fact, its d built up n d preparation to Syawal which makes Raya a happy occasion. coz even when i'm digging my pockets n purse for that last filled envelope raya to give so n so's kid, it will be d times when i go to nenek's house to buka n to help make d kuih raya, d terawih at home with adina tertonggekx2 trying to follow me but finally giving up by the 8th rakaat,d times when i go down to geylang in d heat of d afternoon sun with An profusely perspiring away as he carries the sleeping lil girl(who's not getting any lighter) through d human traffic, d planning n anticipation of mine, adina's and an's similar baju raya n of course breaking fast at An's place with all his family n the spread of dishes dat fill me up to vomiting point (nampak sangat my gelojoh.hehe)n the suppers or early sahurs with adina's mummies... it would be these very times which i would recall fondly and long to experience again more than Syawal, more than meeting friends and relatives n definitely much more than giving out green packets. As this beautiful month draws to a close, I thank Him for the chance He has given me to meet Ramadhan n i really hope that my life would be long enough to meet Ramadhan again. n to all my dear friends, my sis n anyone whom i know n is reading this, i extend my sincerest apology for any wrong dat i have done, zahir dan batin. May you have a blessed Ramadhan n a joy filled Syawal. Eid Mubarakh to all..
